“Lovely Bouquet of Flowers: An Exploration of Non-Traditional Gender Voices” is a transformative theatre project dedicated to amplifying transgender and gender-nonconforming narratives. Our mission is to foster understanding, acceptance, and advocacy through powerful storytelling and performance art. By bringing these authentic experiences to diverse audiences, we aim to challenge societal oppression, reduce stigma, and promote inclusivity while illuminating truths, evoking empathy, and igniting lasting change.
Our immediate goal is to present this play within correctional facilities, starting with the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD), providing incarcerated transgender individuals with a platform for expression, connection, healing, and self-acceptance within a supportive community. The special event will feature the play, workshops, panel discussions and if possible, a screening of “In Full Bloom…transcending gender”, the documentary feature that grew from the original production.
Looking ahead, we envision a tour of this special event across the greater Los Angeles area, beginning with 10 performances at correctional facilities, educational institutions, nonprofit theatres, and advocacy organizations to spark dialogue, engagement, and inspire opportunities for learning, connection, and activism. The tour will culminate in a November East Coast premiere during Trans Visibility Week, concluding on Transgender Day of Remembrance 2025. These catalytic, high-profile performances will feature a special night of theatre in New York City, and two performances in Washington, D.C., at a public venue, reaching a national audience, uplifting trans voices, and fostering deeper conversations about identity, justice, and resilience—ensuring that trans stories are seen, heard, and celebrated at this crucial moment in history.
