An Exhibition Organized by Jay Belloli
Dr. Randii R. Wessen, JPL, Science Advisor

Since the dawn of the space age in 1958, there has been a revolution in our understanding of our planet because of what we have learned from space. Beginning with early weather satellites and NASA’s human space program, we have come to visually understand the Earth as a whole system, not as individual nations or geographical regions. This new vantage point has helped us identify characteristics, changes and problems in the atmosphere, the land, and the oceans, and at times make adjustments needed to meet challenges.

The Earth from Space exhibition will bring together historic photographs of our planet, and will present images to investigate the reality of climate change. A total of 100 photographs and charts will be included, as well as videos. An extensive catalogue will be published, with the photographs and visual materials in the show as well as interviews with scientists who are experts in the study of the atmosphere, land masses, and oceans.
