About

Border Ecologies is a transmedia project that reconsiders the US-Mexico border. The project centers around the “100-mile zone” that rings the United States, allowing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to operate within it, suspending constitutional rights. Focusing on key sites in California that represent this zone, the project will highlight that the border is not a fixed line, but rather, is loosely defined by abstract regulations and varying interpretations of the law.
